MURDER squad detectives were tonight quizzing pub regulars and motorists where victim Pat Grainger was seen seven days ago.
A team of detectives is in the area around The Huntsman pub on Barnsley Road, Parson Cross – one of the last know sightings of the 25-year-old mum
A CID spokesman said the aim was to talk to people who might not normally approach police.
They have spoken to scores of witnesses already but are still missing crucial information about Pat’s movements.
Detectives were in the area from 7pm-1am, which covers the hours of one of the last known sightings of Pat,
Her body was discovered dumped in a brook of Colley Drive.
They hope to unearth vital new clues which could lead to an arrest in the case which has shocked the Parson Cross community.
Police say that the mum – who had a mental age of ten – was seen near her home in Buchanan Road, Parson Cross, the night before her body was found.
Pat’s stepdad Roy Wright believes Pat was abducted as she stood trying to decide whether to come home.
Roy Said: “I think she wanted to come home but she was probably scared of being told off. She was probably scared that i would shout at her, beause i would with her being missing for a week.”
Pat had been missing since august 4 from the home she shared with mum Harmina, five-year-old son Danny and her stepdad.
